The crew arrived right on time on the two scheduled work days and completed their work in the amount of time indicated when the contract was signed.
Although the work seemed overall to be quite good, there should have been a little better preparation for and application of the spray foam---and trimming away of overspray---in the basement...especially in the more "involved" areas such as around wires. pipes, electric outlets and the rim joists.
Since customers may be having this type of work done for the first time, it would have been nice if the job estimator had suggested things like making sure the basement circuit breaker box and electric outlets were positioned far enough from the wall to allow for easy application of sheetrock. (The outlets were easy for the sheetrock installer to shift forward, but the edges of the circuit breaker box are now below the wallboard.)Robert Reis, Orangeburg

Good morning.
Let me start off by saying the 2nd floor of my home is 4 degrees warmer than it's been. The effect of the insulation is undeniable. Cold spots are gone as well, the cellulose really took care of the "chimney effect" I had going on in my walls all the way down to the basement.
Your team did a wonderful job. They exceeded my expectations, and I definitely have higher standards than most people. David and his colleagues are professional, courteous, thorough, meticulous, respectful and friendly. (Yes, that's a lot of words, but I mean them)
I was amazed to the attention to detail on so many fronts. They spent half the day doing prep work. They carefully removed my whole house fan and framed/ sheet rocked/taped the hole left behind, boxed out my hi-hat's, carefully and perfectly centered and cut two 6" holes on the side of my house and attached the duct work and vent caps for my bathroom exhaust fans. The attention to detail was impressive, I didn't need to ask them to center or caulk, which I would have expected to do based on prior experiences. They were even nice enough to swap out a blown flood light for me on the front of my house.
At one point I asked David to let me know when he was done prepping, as I wanted to use a sharpie marker to indicate on the rafters where the old partial flooring was, just in case we ever need to walk thru the attic insulation. He did me one better, he put bright orange marking on the rafters for me and took it upon himself to relocate some flooring so I could better access the gable vents and alarm siren on the other side of the attic if needed.
Seriously, I can't say enough. The team you sent to my house is top notch.
You manage a good company. But what I find more impressive, it's obvious there is clear LEADERSHIP from the top down.
In addition, you obviously have high ethics. Mark had the opportunity to sell me insulation for my garage when I asked, but he made it clear that would be wasting money since it's not heated and I should focus and extra money on my walls. You had an opportunity yesterday to sell me more insulation when I asked and offered to pay more, but you said it would not be needed.
Bravo gentlemen, bravo.

First I want to say thanks for the fantastic job you and your crew at New York Energy did for me last year. You and the crew at New York Energy Conservations lived up to all of my expectations. The job was done timely and without mess or fuss.
The real reason for my note is, now that the new heating season is hear I got an update from my oil company as to what I saved. With The NYSERDA Energy Star Initiative, Blown in insulation, New windows and all of the savings from the program it made it worth the investment.
Now for the results, I save over 400 gallons of oil and more than $2,000 last heating season. With these savings the job will pay for itself in no time. Besides that the best thing is the house stays comfortable even with the lower settings. This makes my wife very happy and warm.
It even saves in the summer on my electric because the house stays cooler and I use the AC less. You can feel free to use me as a reference any time. Heck, I am a walking commercial. I have my friends and neighbors talking and thinking about it.Bob McCaffrey, New Rochelle

Last October, Phoenix Mechanical installed a new 95% standard heating system and NY Energy Conservation insulated our 1952 house. After securing NYSERDA credits and the $1,500 Federal tax credit, cost came down to about $9,000.
Just received my Con Ed bill, where I’m on level payment plan. I had previously noticed that my gas consumption was been down about 30% with same therm day numbers. Because of lower gas usage in past four months, my monthly level payment will drop from $399 to $305 for next 8 months — almost 24% reduction in cost.
A savings of $94/month or $1,128/year, which I attribute entirely to the home energy investment I made.
